Hi friends,

Indexes broke resistances in the past week in another bullish stint. Time to sit back, relax for a bit, and enjoy the greenery. 💰

  • Dow Jones 30: 34,433.84 (3.44%, year-to-date: 12.51%)

  • S&P 500: 4,280.70 (2.74%, year-to-date: 13.97%)

  • Nasdaq: 14,360.39 (2.35%, year-to-date: 11.42%)

Nike just did it

Nike reached all time highs, exceeding $154 per share (over 15% in a day) this past week after a huge rush to cash in on optimistic growth in North American and China sales, leaving a gaping hole in the ceiling. With this much optimism, and an even greater outlook, it may be a good time to start lining portfolios with some shares.

Deal or no deal

The $2 billion oil deal between Zhenhua Oil Company and Iraq fell through when Iraq made the decision to distribute its supply elsewhere. Founded in 2003, Zhenhua Oil Co is one of China's premier oil exploration/production in countries located in the Middle East and is known for its frequent dealings with Chevron.

Death from above

The United States launched its air strikes in Iraq and Syria in response to drone attacks to U.S. troops. The attack targeted munitions facilities influenced by Iran in an attempt to cripple and neutralize Iran's war supplies near critical U.S. bases.

Walgreens Boots (WBA)

It's time to circle back to Walgreens as earnings is approaching on the first of July in the morning. With the pandemic being potentially profitable for the pharmacy store chain as it expects a 2% increase in sales around areas where the vaccine is offered after seeing a massive slump. Let's put that magnifying glass against its fundamentals to see if it's worth our time.

Annual Top-Line Revenue:

  • 2020-08-31 : $139.54B

  • 2019-08-31 : $136.87B

  • 2018-08-31 : $131.54B

  • 2017-08-31 : $118.21B

  • 2016-08-31 : $117.35B

Earnings History:

  • 2021-06-30 : beat (Estimate: 1.12, Actual: 1.26)

  • 2021-03-31 : beat (Estimate: 1.04, Actual: 1.22)

  • 2020-12-31 : beat (Estimate: 0.97, Actual: 1.02)

Historical Stock Returns:

  • 3-month : 0.5%

  • 1-year : 26.84%

  • 5-year : -34.56%

That is a UGLY 5-year return. Some folks might have considered exiting their positions with covered calls to cash in on a declining market while moving out of holding shares, or even establishing a cadence in bear call spreads.
