Hi friends,

With another bounding leap forward, here's a look at the 5-day change for ETF's SPY (or the S&P 500), DIA (or the Dow 30), and QQQ (or the Nasdaq 100). What a way to reach historical highs while springing into the 4th of July:

I must break you
A moment to remember...
  • SPY : 1.53%, closed at $433.72

  • DIA : 1.04%, closed at $347.94

  • QQQ : 2.24%, closed at $358.64

YOLO under wraps

Subreddit r/WallStreetBets has made itself private this past week, only allowing viewers and participants in at the behest of its moderators. Why? It could be that the SEC may be cracking down on what it deems market manipulation or it may even be that WSB is weeding out moles looking to disrupt the proletariat. Who knows.

Robinhood's IPO

It was only a matter of time before Robinhood moves forward with filing for IPO. To top off that bit of news, they're planning to allow access to roughly a quarter of its IPO shares for its own customers. Yep, if you have an account with Robinhood you would be able to buy the IPO directly on its own app.

Hacked again

Kaseya, an IT management software company is the latest victim of a recent ransomware attack, affecting companies using its services in the hundreds. Customers using their VSA (or virtual server agent) are advised to stop running their VSAs until Kaseya patches their systems. Experts say the suspects are of a known Russian hacking group, REvil.

Netflix, Inc (NFLX)

Netflix is a real seesaw sometimes. Being a growth stock has its advantages in that you could suddenly make bank for very little effort. Nevertheless, let's run through some fundamental analysis.

Annual Top-Line Revenue:

  • 2020-12-31 : $25B

  • 2019-12-31 : $20.16B

  • 2018-12-31 : $15.79B

  • 2017-12-31 : $11.69B

  • 2016-12-31 : $8.83B

Earnings History:

  • 2021-03-31 : beat (Estimate: 3.03, Actual: 3.75)

  • 2020-12-31 : miss (Estimate: 1.42, Actual: 1.19)

  • 2020-09-31: miss (Estimate: 2.14, Actual: 1.74)

Historical Stock Returns (approximate):

  • 3-month : -1.11%

  • 1-year : 9.95%

  • 5-year : 460.9%

You can see that annual top line revenue seems to jump nearly $5 billion every year. While it can see turbulence from time to time, it still falls under the same recommendations of incremental buying when things look rosy. If you're not sure, wait until you see how investor sentiment appears after earnings, which is in a couple of weeks.
